Welcome

School is about to begin at Christ the King and that means so are piano lessons. First, let me thank you for entrusting me with your child's music education. Teaching people about music is one of my biggest passions in life. I am excited to share that with your student.

As we look forward to getting started, there are a few things you should know about me as a teacher. I have high expectations. My goal at each lesson is to clearly communicate both praise and critique to help build a love of learning music. In order for students to meet my standards, practice is a must. At each lesson, I will write down a complete outline of what they are to focus on in the upcoming week and provide a practice log to help them track their progress. If life happens and your child comes to a lesson unprepared, I will make note of it in their file. If it becomes a routine occurrence, we will discuss the next steps. Left unresolved, your child will forfeit their place in my studio.

Learning how to play the piano takes focus, consistent effort, and a love for music. Having all of those elements in place is how we can ensure your child has fun in my studio. I want it to be fun. When goals are met, good things will happen!

Tomorrow, Friday the 24th, I will be at the CtK Welcome BBQ. There is still space in my schedule and I will be accepting new students at that time. On Monday, Principal Hintz and I are going to meet to discuss the logistics of the day-to-day. When we have a working plan I will contact you and inform you of the plan.

God Bless,

Mrs. Carilyn Fukura
